Repair post-winter skin for a sunny start to spring

Winter's harsh cold, wet weather and biting winds leave our skin dull and parched. So time to kick-start our cell renewal and allow our skin to bloom!
TIP
1

Keep skin moisturised

Moisturising is essential if we want healthy, glowing skin. To boost skin cell renewal, apply a moisturiser morning and night. If you've been using a rich cream during winter (cold cream, for example), swap it for a lighter texture. Nourishing creams are great during winter, but can be too heavy for spring and summer. So, go for a light cream with an SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Choose your cream according to your skin type and needs. Don't use the same cream at night: opt for a night cream that will hydrate and repair your skin. It'll also help to prepare it for the following day's wind, heat and sunshine.

Repair your skin

The best way to beat the winter skin blues is to apply a face mask !

By slathering on a thick, occlusive layer, your skin will be able to soak up its active ingredients. As with your cream, choose a mask according to your needs - purifying, brightening, anti-fatigue, moisturising, nourishing...

Leave it on for 20 minutes and wipe off any excess with a tissue. Follow by massaging your face with your fingertips for a few minutes to get your circulation going.

Get back your glow

Skin cells take about a month to renew themselves. Apply a face scrub on a regular basis to get rid of skin-suffocating dead cells, kick-start your circulation and boost cell renewal. For a clear, healthy complexion, aim to gently scrub at least once every other week. Pop a dollop on your palm, let it warm up and then lightly massage it on using small, circular movements. Finish by rinsing if off with water.
